Last weekend in London and in front of around 200 La Jolie Ronde teachers I was so very proud to receive my 25 years of service award. Yes, it does make me feel depressingly old………., but the pride I have more than makes up for that!
Over the last quarter of a century thousands of young learners have sung, danced and clapped their way through our lessons, learning French and Spanish in a fun and inspiring way.
Our aim is always to give the children a positive feeling and memory of language learning which they will take with them through life, and in this global age of ours I believe that it’s more important than ever that our children are seen as citizens of the world.
Here is a photo of me taken at the event, alongside La Jolie Ronde creator and founder, Mme Colette Hallam.
Here is what La Jolie Ronde General Manager Steve Baker said on the day:
“Joy is the consummate professional in everything she says and does and is a true ambassador for La Jolie Ronde in every sense of the word. I feel very privileged to have worked alongside Joy. I am also extremely proud to know that so many thousands of children have personally benefited from Joy’s classes over the years using the La Jolie Ronde method. Joy is an absolute pleasure to work with. She wears her passion for languages on her sleeve”.
Here is what the founder of La Jolie Ronde, Colette Hallam, said on the day:
“If I had to choose someone to travel with me again, through all the ups and downs of life with La Jolie Ronde ….I would choose you”.
